Our own Slidewaters!

Talk about a change in the weather…  rainy season is here!  Yesterday we walked a minute up the river from the bridge Wenatchee built last year and had our own little version of Slidewaters (minus the crowds and the lines).  Rain fell for most of the night and part of the morning, and the river is up!  We walked around and found an old “slipper,” aka flip flop (single broken shoes litter the area), and cut it to different pieces.  Each of us claimed a shape and wrote our name on it with a Sharpie and we were off to the boat races.  It was cool enough that our Fulani friends got the chills.  It was the perfect temperature for me to just sit and watch the boys play.  I guess I am a fair weather missionary.  There was an S in the river the boys could lie down in and be carried along feet first, around the corner and over a little slide.  The swimming hole was just deep enough to cannon ball into.  Great fun!
